Your First Visit: What to Expect
Your initial appointment with Dr. Lawson will last about 60-90 minutes, giving her ample time to understand your unique health concerns. Unlike rushed medical visits elsewhere, this thorough session allows her to develop a complete picture of your health status and goals. Please arrive 20 minutes before your appointment to check in and complete the required paperwork.
Before arriving, gather your medical history, imaging reports, recent lab work, and a list of current medications and supplements. This information helps us identify potential underlying factors affecting your health and avoid unnecessary repetition of tests.
A Thorough Examination Makes All the Difference
Your appointment begins with posture grid photos to document your starting point, followed by an in-depth consultation about your health concerns, goals, and previous treatments. Dr. Lawson then conducts a detailed orthopedic, neurological, and biomechanical examination, evaluating how you move and function.
Even if you’ve recently seen other providers, she performs her own thorough examination. This meticulous approach often uncovers issues missed by standard medical exams. Many patients are surprised when we identify problems their previous doctors overlooked.
Same-Day Treatment Gets You on the Path to Wellness
Your first visit includes both examination and treatment. You will always receive some form of treatment the first day after the initial evaluation and examinations if chiropractic care is indicated. The extent of that treatment varies based on the individual.
Dr. Lawson explains that initial treatments focus on relieving immediate symptoms, “like removing water from a flooded room.” Once that’s accomplished, subsequent visits target the underlying causes of your condition.
Your Personalized Care Plan
Within a week, you’ll return for a follow-up to review your findings and receive your customized care plan, including recommendations for adjustments, exercises, nutritional guidance, and lifestyle modifications. We provide written materials or emails with detailed recommendations, ensuring you have clear reference materials for implementing suggestions.
We choose not to participate as an in network insurance provider to ensure your care remains personalized and focused on true health, not just symptom management. Traditional insurance supports short-term, reactive care — not prevention, wellness, or root-cause healing.
Children, who benefit most from chiropractic, are often excluded by insurance plans. We believe it’s wiser – and more cost-effective — to build health early rather than repair damage later. We do offer family plans and pediatric care at reduced fees.
By remaining independent, we keep our fees affordable, often lower than typical co-pays. If you have chiropractic coverage, we’re happy to assist you with filing.
