Thinking of buying a cold laser for home use? Read this before you do!

Beware of false claims for cold laser therapy devices that are NOT actually that! I see and receive several ads and emails asking folks to purchase knock off devices that are obviously NOT what they claim. Here’s one example-
healthcaremarts. com  has a “660nm cold laser for humans and pets only $329.00″
So on reading their website-
“808nm wavelength low level laser can work under the skin 3-5 centimeters to accelerate the soft tissue repair, the injured party could release the substance similar to morphia after the cold laser treatment. The irradiation also could reduce the conduction rate, power and impulse frequency to receive the pain quickly..”
Similar to morphia? What?  Do they mean – morphine? Which is false to even claim. ” Irradiation ” reduces conduction rate- do they  mean depth of penetration ? To “receive ” the pain? Do they mean relieve the pain?
Seriously if they can’t even write up a decent site on how it works, and the claims and information is inaccurate, why purchase a so called class 3b laser from this company?
Also if this is truly a class 3b cold laser, treatment times are by Joules to entire body and should be max 3 minutes or 300-350 Joules per session, not  “Timing Setting: 10-60 minutes.” One also needs to be aware that more is not always best. There are times that 300 Joules is to much for a certain situation or individual.
I also see where other companies and some pet associations are pushing or selling laser wraps and it stays on a pet or person without eye protection and is worn for long periods of time. These are most likely LED infrared light therapy that one can purchase for significantly less money. Any ” laser” that requires daily use and or prolonged use  and one without eye protection is NOT legitimate. Do NOT waste your money!
Physiologically cold laser affects the mitochondria to accentuate healing properties of cells in the body to heal. It gives the cells more energy to do what they do naturally. Ie/ wound healing is done by the body – not an outside source! Cold Lasers and red light therapy reduces pain and inflammation by allowing the body to do its job!  Cold lasers have a higher depth of penetration and require much less application times and frequency than LED red light does for results to occur. LED red light therapy only works if used daily for a minimum of 20-30 minutes at a particular site. LED light therapy should not be hundreds of dollars to purchase. Don’t be tricked into buying a device for more money assuming it works like a cold laser, if in fact, if it is just a red light. And beware that you are actually purchasing a device with the proper wavelengths for healing and not just a “red light.” Or if preferred, just come in for a chiropractic adjustment and we include cold laser treatments with no extra charge with every visit when indicated!
The power that made the power heals the body!  Rant over !

Thank you for this. Hours have been spent trying to find the correct device …. Just comments like “if it doesn't come with glasses “ were aha's. Thanks

Thank you, very enlightening. I spent months looking at different devices. I like one brand in USA but think I must buy in the UK for repair/service. Found a medical grade/professional brand, the only downside is that it isn't that compact, although portable. I am also concerned spending up to £10k and then not be confident to fully utilise its potential. Thanks again for spending time to advise 👍
